AT-LEGAL-003 — Alta Terminal Risk Disclosure
1. Purpose
This disclosure summarizes material risks associated with Alta Terminal. It cannot identify every possible risk. Customers should use only virtual value they can afford to lose completely.
2. Virtual and Roleplay Value
Alta Terminal instruments, cash, returns, and positions are fictional, simulated, in-game, or roleplay records unless Alta Group expressly states otherwise. They may have no real-world monetary value, legal ownership status, redemption right, insurance, or government protection.
3. Pre-Launch and Feature Risk
Alta Terminal is under development. Features may be unavailable, incomplete, reset, materially changed, or never launched. Demonstrations and roadmap descriptions are not commitments.
4. Market and Price Risk
Prices may change rapidly. A position or crypto holding may lose some or all of its virtual value. Historical prices, simulated performance, rankings, and charts do not predict future results.
For bonding-curve crypto instruments, purchases and sales themselves move the marginal price. Displayed marginal price can differ from average execution price, and large trades can cause sharp price impact.
5. Liquidity Risk
There may be few or no willing counterparties for provider-routed instruments. A Customer may be unable to enter or exit a position at the displayed price, in the requested quantity, or at all.
For Alta Crypto instruments, sell liquidity depends on each asset’s protected florin reserve and operational status rather than an open public order book.
6. Order Risk
Orders may be delayed, rejected, partially filled, filled at different prices, remain open, or execute before a cancellation arrives. Different order types exchange price certainty, execution opportunity, and timing in different ways.
7. Third-Party Provider Risk
Alta Terminal may rely on independent providers for execution, venue access, custody records, market data, settlement, identity, banking, or communications. A provider may experience outages, change its rules, restrict an instrument, reject an instruction, provide incorrect data, suspend service, or cease operating.
Alta Terminal cannot guarantee a provider’s solvency, governance, fairness, security, or continued availability.
8. Custody and Record Risk
Positions and balances may depend on provider or platform records rather than possession of a transferable real-world asset. Records may require reconciliation and may be frozen while discrepancies are investigated.
An external provider may hold positions or cash in one pooled or omnibus Alta account. Customers depend on Alta Terminal's internal ledger and allocation process to identify their virtual interests. An allocation error, duplicate or missing provider message, delayed reconciliation, or difference between internal and provider records may temporarily or permanently affect displayed cash, positions, buying power, or access.
9. Settlement and Counterparty Risk
A completed execution may still fail to settle. A provider, company, counterparty, payment source, or settlement service may fail to deliver required virtual cash or assets. Corrections or reversals may occur after an earlier provisional display.
A Bank-to-Terminal or Terminal-to-Bank funding transfer updates separate internal ledgers. A partial technical failure or later reconciliation issue may delay availability, produce a temporary mismatch, or require a correction or reversal.
10. Company and Security Risk
A company whose instruments appear in Terminal may provide inaccurate information, become inactive, act fraudulently, fail to honor a corporate action, lose community standing, or cease operating. Alta Terminal does not guarantee company conduct or disclosures.
An organization’s Company Members receive full access to enabled funding, orders, portfolios, scheduled trades, crypto activity, settings, and member-management features. The Company Member feature is in progress and exposes only Owner and Member; it does not create role-specific safeguards. The primary owner cannot be removed through the feature, but any Member may invite or remove other Members and edit organization settings. The organization is responsible for reviewing membership and activity and for removing access promptly.
11. Market Data Risk
Quotes, charts, news, reference data, and analytics may be delayed, stale, incomplete, duplicated, corrected, or unavailable. A displayed price may not be executable.
12. Technology and Cybersecurity Risk
Internet failures, software defects, credential compromise, unauthorized access, dependency failures, malicious activity, data corruption, deployment mistakes, or hardware outages may affect access or records.
13. Community and Platform Risk
Minecraft servers, Discord communities, roleplay governments, rules, ownership, and player populations may change abruptly. Community conflict, server closure, migration, or administrative action may impair or eliminate virtual value and services.
14. Concentration Risk
Holding a large portion of virtual value in one instrument, company, provider, industry, account, or community increases exposure to a single failure.
15. Corporate-Action Risk
Splits, distributions, mergers, symbol changes, cancellations, and other actions may be delayed, disputed, corrected, or inconsistently implemented by companies and providers.
16. Operational-Control Risk
Risk limits, account restrictions, trading interruptions, provider controls, or emergency procedures may prevent a Customer from acting when desired. Controls may be introduced or changed in response to new threats.
If scheduled or recurring trading is enabled, each future attempt remains exposed to insufficient funds, closed sessions, price changes, stale instructions, provider outages, and account or instrument restrictions. A schedule does not guarantee that any attempt will be submitted or filled.
17. No Advice
Alta Terminal does not evaluate whether a transaction is suitable for a Customer and does not provide personalized investment advice. Research, rankings, analytics, and educational content are informational or roleplay tools.
18. No Real-World Protection
Alta Terminal is not a real-world regulated brokerage, bank, exchange, custodian, or clearing agency. Real-world investor compensation, deposit insurance, securities regulation, and similar protections do not apply merely because brokerage terminology is used.
19. Total-Loss Acknowledgment
By using an enabled trading or position feature, the Customer acknowledges the possibility of losing the entire virtual value of an instrument or account and accepts the risks described here and in the Customer Agreement.
