AG-LEGAL-005 — Electronic Communications and Consent
1. Purpose
This Electronic Communications and Consent document explains how Alta Group and its subsidiaries provide agreements, statements, notices, approvals, and other records electronically.
2. Consent to Electronic Records
By creating or using an Alta account, accepting an agreement electronically, or continuing after this disclosure is presented, the user consents to receive records electronically through one or more official channels.
Electronic records may include:
- terms, policies, disclosures, and amendments;
- account, card, loan, merchant, brokerage, and payment agreements;
- applications, decisions, approvals, and denials;
- statements, transaction confirmations, receipts, and order statuses;
- security alerts, dispute updates, and service notices;
- fee changes and product notices; and
- requests for information or action.
3. Communication Channels
Alta may communicate through:
- an Alta website, dashboard, inbox, or support center;
- Discord direct messages, approved channels, or authorized Alta bots;
- an email address voluntarily provided by the user;
- downloadable documents;
- in-product banners or prompts; or
- another channel the user and Alta agree to use.
Sensitive information may be withheld from an insecure or public channel.
4. Electronic Acceptance
A button press, checkbox, typed confirmation, Discord interaction, digital signature, authenticated submission, or other recorded affirmative action may serve as acceptance when the surrounding screen or message identifies the document or action being accepted.
Alta may retain the document identifier, version, content hash, consent scope, acceptance type, timestamp, account identifier, subject, interaction record, and related audit information as evidence of acceptance. Acceptance history may be append-only: a new version may supersede an earlier acceptance without erasing the earlier record.
Alta may request consent progressively. Platform-wide documents may be presented during onboarding, while Bank, Terminal, Alta Pay, Alta Card, Lending, Commercial, or other product documents may be presented only when the user first enters or attempts an action in that product. Accepting one product's documents does not accept another product's documents.
When a user accepts on behalf of a company, the recorded acceptance may identify the company and the representative. The representative confirms that they have authority to bind that company under its Alta roles and governing rules.
An acknowledgment of a standard Alta Card or lending template confirms receipt and review of the template; it is not a finalized individualized card or loan agreement. Any finalized agreement must separately identify the applicable account, approved terms, parties, and affirmative acceptance.
5. Delivery and Availability
A record is considered provided when it is posted to the user's authenticated account or sent through the selected official channel. Users are responsible for maintaining access to their Discord account, email, and Alta credentials and for reviewing notices made available to them.
6. Technical Requirements
Users need a device capable of accessing the relevant Alta service, a supported browser or Discord client, and the ability to display or save ordinary web pages or PDF/text documents. Users may request reasonable assistance through support if a record cannot be accessed.
7. Paper or Alternate Copies
Alta operates primarily online. A user may request another electronic copy through official support channels. Physical paper delivery is not offered unless Alta expressly agrees.
8. Withdrawal of Consent
A user may ask to withdraw consent to electronic communications. Because Alta services operate electronically, withdrawal may prevent Alta from opening or continuing an account or product. Withdrawal does not affect records or agreements already delivered or accepted. Alta may continue to provide electronic access needed to review records, repay or resolve an existing obligation, close a product, or obtain support even when new product activity is unavailable.
9. Contact Information
Users must keep available contact and connected-account information accurate. Alta is not responsible for a missed notice caused by an inaccessible, blocked, abandoned, or incorrectly supplied communication channel.
10. Roleplay and Virtual Economy Notice
This consent governs records for Alta's Minecraft, Discord, roleplay, simulated, and virtual-economy services. It does not represent a claim that Alta provides regulated real-world electronic banking or financial services.
11. Changes
Alta may update this document when communication methods or services change. Material updates will be made available through an official Alta channel and may require renewed affirmative acceptance before new activity in the affected service.
