Alta Exchange is not required to match every compatible order if there are restrictions, errors, halts, risk concerns, or technical issues.
14. Execution
A trade is executed only when Alta Exchange records the trade as completed.
Execution may occur at the submitted price, available market price, matched limit price, or another price permitted by the applicable order type and exchange procedures.
Alta Exchange records are the official records of executions unless Alta Exchange determines that a correction is required.

Alta Exchange may establish price limits, order size limits, position limits, rate limits, volatility controls, manual review thresholds, circuit breakers, or other risk controls.
Alta Exchange may apply different controls to different securities, accounts, participants, order types, or market conditions.
Orders that violate risk controls may be rejected, delayed, cancelled, or reviewed.
22. Short Selling and Negative Positions
Short selling is prohibited unless Alta Exchange expressly allows it.
Participants may not intentionally sell securities they do not own or create negative positions unless approved by Alta Exchange.
If a negative position occurs due to error, reversal, settlement issue, or system problem, Alta Exchange may correct the account, restrict trading, require cover, cancel trades, or take other action.

Wash trading is prohibited.
A wash trade occurs when a participant trades with themselves, with a controlled account, with a related party, or through coordinated accounts to create artificial volume, price movement, or market activity.
Alta Exchange may cancel wash trades, restrict accounts, adjust market data, remove volume, suspend securities, or take enforcement action.
27. Spoofing and Layering
Spoofing and layering are prohibited.
Participants may not place orders with the intent to cancel them before execution in order to mislead the market, create false demand or supply, influence price, or manipulate other traders.
Alta Exchange may cancel orders, restrict accounts, or take enforcement action when spoofing or layering is suspected.
