AB-LEGAL-003 — Alta Pay Terms
1. Overview
These Alta Pay Terms (“Terms”) govern use of Alta Pay and related payment services offered by Alta Bank.
Alta Pay may include payment links, invoices, merchant payments, scheduled payments, recurring payments, customer checkout pages, payment confirmations, refunds, reversals, payment notifications, and other payment tools provided by Alta Bank.
By using Alta Pay, the user, customer, business, merchant, or authorized representative agrees to these Terms, the Alta Bank Deposit Account Agreement, the Alta Bank Business Banking Agreement where applicable, the Alta Group Terms of Service, the Alta Group Privacy Policy, any applicable fee schedule, and any other rules or disclosures provided by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may update these Terms at any time.
2. Roleplay and Virtual Economy Notice
Alta Pay is designed for use within Minecraft, Discord, roleplay communities, virtual economies, and related online environments.
Unless Alta Bank clearly states otherwise in writing:
- Alta Pay does not process real-world money;
- Alta Pay does not provide real-world payment processing;
- Alta Pay does not create real-world banking, payment, investment, or legal rights;
- payments may represent in-game, fictional, simulated, or roleplay value only;
- payment activity may depend on the rules of the relevant Minecraft server, Discord server, or roleplay community.
Users are responsible for understanding that Alta Pay is a roleplay and virtual economy payment service unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Alta Pay Services
Alta Pay may allow approved users and businesses to:
- send payments;
- receive payments;
- create payment links;
- create merchant invoices;
- create recurring invoices;
- schedule payments;
- approve recurring payments;
- pay invoices;
- pay merchants;
- receive customer payments;
- view payment records;
- receive payment notifications;
- request support or dispute review;
- use other payment tools approved by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may add, remove, limit, or change Alta Pay features at any time.
4. Eligibility
Alta Bank may require users, businesses, merchants, or authorized representatives to meet eligibility requirements before using Alta Pay.
Alta Bank may require:
- an Alta account;
- an Alta Bank account;
- a business banking account;
- business verification;
- merchant approval;
- connected Discord account;
- accurate account information;
- acceptance of applicable agreements;
- compliance with Alta Bank and Alta Group rules.
Alta Bank may approve, deny, suspend, restrict, or terminate Alta Pay access at its discretion.
5. Customers
A “customer” is a person or account holder who uses Alta Pay to make a payment.
Customers are responsible for:
- reviewing payment details before paying;
- confirming the correct merchant or recipient;
- confirming the correct amount;
- maintaining sufficient funds;
- protecting account access;
- reporting unauthorized or incorrect activity promptly;
- following Alta Bank and Alta Group rules.
A customer payment may not be reversible unless Alta Bank determines that reversal is appropriate.
6. Merchants
A “merchant” is a business, company, organization, or approved user that uses Alta Pay to request, receive, or manage payments.
Merchants are responsible for:
- providing accurate payment information;
- describing goods, services, invoices, or payment purposes clearly;
- honoring customer orders or obligations;
- managing refunds or customer issues where applicable;
- maintaining accurate business information;
- paying applicable fees;
- following Alta Bank merchant rules;
- cooperating with disputes, investigations, and reviews.
Alta Bank may approve, deny, restrict, suspend, or terminate merchant access at any time.
7. Payment Links
Alta Pay may allow merchants to create payment links.
Payment links may be fixed amount, open amount, one-time, reusable, limited, paused, expired, cancelled, or otherwise configured by the merchant or Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may restrict, pause, disable, or remove payment links if they are misleading, abusive, risky, inactive, fraudulent, rule-breaking, or harmful to platform integrity.
Merchants are responsible for the accuracy of payment link titles, descriptions, amounts, terms, branding, and related information.
8. Invoices
Alta Pay may allow merchants to create and send invoices.
Invoices may include:
- merchant information;
- customer information;
- invoice number;
- description;
- line items;
- due date;
- amount due;
- payment status;
- notes;
- payment button or link;
- applicable fees;
- other invoice details.
Alta Bank may support invoice statuses such as draft, sent, viewed, paid, partially paid, overdue, cancelled, voided, or other statuses.
Merchants are responsible for issuing accurate invoices.
Customers are responsible for reviewing invoices before paying.
9. Recurring Payments and Recurring Invoices
Alta Pay may support recurring payments, scheduled payments, recurring invoices, subscriptions, or similar payment arrangements.
A recurring payment may require customer approval, merchant setup, account authorization, or additional review.
Alta Bank may allow customers to approve, pause, cancel, restrict, or limit recurring payment authorizations where supported.
Alta Bank may allow merchants to create recurring invoices only if eligible under Alta Bank rules or subscription requirements.
Alta Bank may fail, pause, cancel, or restrict recurring payments when necessary due to insufficient funds, account restrictions, payment limits, authorization issues, merchant restrictions, technical errors, or risk concerns.
10. Scheduled Payments
Alta Pay may allow customers or businesses to schedule payments for a future date.
Scheduled payments are not guaranteed until completed and recorded by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may cancel, delay, fail, reject, or review a scheduled payment if:
- the account has insufficient funds;
- the account is restricted;
- the recipient is unavailable;
- the payment violates limits;
- the payment appears suspicious;
- authorization is missing or expired;
- a technical issue occurs;
- Alta Bank determines review is necessary.
11. Authorization
By submitting, approving, scheduling, or confirming a payment, the user authorizes Alta Bank to process the payment according to the provided instructions.
The user is responsible for verifying the recipient, amount, account, memo, payment description, and related details before authorization.
Alta Bank may rely on actions taken through an authenticated account, authorized business user, approved merchant account, or connected service.
12. Payment Finality
A payment is not final until completed and recorded by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may delay, hold, reverse, cancel, reject, or adjust a payment when necessary to address:
- fraud;
- abuse;
- technical errors;
- duplicate payments;
- unauthorized activity;
- insufficient funds;
- incorrect information;
- account restrictions;
- merchant restrictions;
- disputes;
- chargeback-like claims;
- rule violations;
- platform integrity concerns.
A completed payment may not be reversible unless Alta Bank determines that reversal is appropriate.
13. Failed Payments
A payment may fail for reasons including:
- insufficient funds;
- account restriction;
- merchant restriction;
- expired payment link;
- cancelled invoice;
- invalid recipient;
- technical error;
- authorization failure;
- payment limit;
- risk review;
- user or merchant rule violation.
Alta Bank may notify the customer, merchant, or both when a payment fails.
Alta Bank is not responsible for goods, services, deadlines, penalties, disputes, or missed opportunities caused by a failed payment unless a specific written agreement states otherwise.
14. Refunds and Reversals
Alta Pay may support refunds, reversals, or payment adjustments where approved by Alta Bank.
Refunds may be initiated by a merchant, required by Alta Bank, or processed as part of a dispute resolution.
Alta Bank may reverse or adjust a payment if it determines that the payment was unauthorized, duplicated, fraudulent, mistaken, abusive, technically incorrect, or otherwise improper.
A merchant may be responsible for refund amounts, fees, negative balances, or related obligations caused by refunds, reversals, or disputes.
15. Disputes
Users may submit Alta Pay disputes through official Alta Bank support channels.
Disputes may involve:
- unauthorized payments;
- incorrect amounts;
- duplicate payments;
- failed payments;
- missing goods or services;
- misleading invoices;
- merchant issues;
- customer issues;
- payment link issues;
- recurring payment issues;
- technical errors.
Alta Bank may resolve disputes based on records, logs, screenshots, payment history, invoice data, merchant information, customer information, staff review, and applicable rules.
Alta Bank’s decision is final unless Alta Bank chooses to reopen the matter.
16. Fees
Alta Bank may charge fees for Alta Pay services.
Fees may apply to:
- payment processing;
- merchant payments;
- invoices;
- payment links;
- recurring payments;
- commercial subscriptions;
- premium features;
- refunds;
- reversals;
- disputes;
- failed payments;
- account reviews;
- other payment services.
Fees may be listed in a fee schedule, product page, subscription page, invoice, agreement, disclosure, or account notice.
Alta Bank may deduct applicable fees from an account balance where allowed by its rules.
17. Holds and Reserves
Alta Bank may place holds, delays, reserves, or restrictions on merchant funds or payment proceeds when necessary to protect users, merchants, Alta Bank, Alta Group, or platform integrity.
Reasons may include:
- fraud risk;
- high dispute rate;
- suspicious activity;
- large payments;
- new merchant activity;
- verification concerns;
- customer complaints;
- unpaid fees;
- technical errors;
- platform risk;
- policy violations.
Alta Bank may release, extend, reduce, increase, or apply holds at its discretion.
18. Merchant Restrictions
Alta Bank may restrict or terminate a merchant’s ability to use Alta Pay if the merchant:
- violates Alta rules;
- misleads customers;
- submits false information;
- abuses payment tools;
- has excessive disputes;
- fails verification;
- fails to pay fees;
- creates platform risk;
- engages in fraud or suspected fraud;
- sells prohibited goods or services;
- violates Minecraft server rules, Discord rules, platform rules, or applicable law.
Alta Bank may remove or disable invoices, payment links, checkout pages, merchant branding, recurring invoices, or other merchant tools when necessary.
19. Prohibited Payment Activity
Users may not use Alta Pay to:
- commit fraud;
- exploit bugs;
- launder or hide funds;
- evade restrictions;
- submit false proof;
- impersonate another user or merchant;
- create fake invoices;
- create misleading payment links;
- manipulate balances;
- abuse refunds or reversals;
- scam users;
- harass customers or staff;
- bypass account limits;
- interfere with Alta systems;
- violate Minecraft server rules, Discord rules, Alta rules, or applicable law;
- conduct activity Alta Bank considers unsafe, abusive, misleading, or harmful.
Alta Bank may investigate and restrict activity connected to prohibited payments.
20. Customer and Merchant Communications
Alta Pay may send communications through:
- website alerts;
- dashboard messages;
- Discord direct messages;
- Discord channels;
- email, if provided;
- invoice pages;
- payment pages;
- support tickets;
- other approved methods.
Communications may include payment confirmations, failures, invoice updates, payment link updates, refund updates, dispute updates, merchant alerts, account restrictions, and policy updates.
Some notifications may be required for payment security or service operation and may not be fully disabled.
21. Branded Payment Pages
Alta Bank may allow eligible merchants to customize payment pages, invoices, or payment links.
Merchant branding may include names, logos, colors, support information, descriptions, or other approved content.
Alta Bank may reject, remove, edit, reset, or disable merchant branding if it is misleading, abusive, infringing, unsafe, impersonating another party, low-quality, or harmful to platform integrity.
Use of branded payment pages does not remove Alta Bank’s authority over Alta Pay.
22. Payment Records
Alta Bank may maintain records of Alta Pay activity, including:
- payment links;
- invoices;
- payment attempts;
- successful payments;
- failed payments;
- refunds;
- reversals;
- disputes;
- customer information;
- merchant information;
- account information;
- timestamps;
- staff actions;
- audit logs;
- notifications.
Alta Bank’s records are the official records of Alta Pay unless Alta Bank determines that a correction is required.
23. Service Availability
Alta Pay may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time.
Alta Bank does not guarantee that payment links, invoices, checkout pages, recurring payments, scheduled payments, bots, websites, APIs, or support systems will always be available or error-free.
Alta Bank may perform maintenance, emergency shutdowns, upgrades, or resets when necessary.
24. Relationship to Other Agreements
These Terms apply to Alta Pay services.
Other Alta Bank agreements may also apply, including:
- Deposit Account Agreement;
- Business Banking Agreement;
- Merchant Services Agreement;
- Lending Agreement;
- Cardholder Agreement;
- Fee Schedule;
- product-specific disclosures.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a more specific product agreement, the more specific agreement controls for that product unless Alta Bank states otherwise.
25. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable rules and law, Alta Bank, Alta Group, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of Alta Pay.
Alta Bank’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the user or merchant to Alta Bank for the specific Alta Pay service giving rise to the claim during the thirty days before the claim, unless a specific written agreement states otherwise.
26. Indemnification
Users, businesses, and merchants agree to defend and hold harmless Alta Bank, Alta Group, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:
- misuse of Alta Pay;
- violation of these Terms;
- violation of Alta Group or Alta Bank rules;
- false payment information;
- fraud, abuse, or misconduct;
- merchant-customer disputes;
- unauthorized account sharing;
- user-submitted content;
- violation of third-party rights;
- violation of server rules, platform rules, or applicable law.
27. Changes to These Terms
Alta Bank may update these Terms at any time.
Updated versions become effective when posted, published, or otherwise made available.
Continued use of Alta Pay after an update means the user accepts the updated Terms.

Questions, disputes, or support requests should be submitted through official Alta Bank support channels.
29. Approval
These Alta Pay Terms are adopted by Alta Bank as the governing terms for Alta Pay services.
